Shumba Shaba Lodge
Our eco-friendly lodge, run by Sandy and Denis Paul, is situated on the edge of the Mchabezi Gorge. Perched on top of a strikingly expansive rock in the Matopo Hills, the lodge commands a stunning view over the surrounding natural areas.
We provide bed and breakfast, and have a variety of accommodation to suit you. The lodges vary in size and design, and you will be able to find one that feels like home.
Our lodges are uniquely picturesque, and are thatched, and have teak flooring and Mukwa timber walls, and each lodge faces East to provide our visitors with an unrivaled view of the glorious sunrise and the sweeping valleys below. We are solar powered and try to reduce our ecological footprint as much as possible. The night skies are incomparable, untainted by any light pollution for miles.
Our food is generous and delicious, which has been corroborated by countless visitors. Luckily we have many trails and walks to work up a hearty appetite, and work off all the appetizing meals!
We also have an idyllic dam nestled amongst the boulders, and bushman paintings to be found on your explorations throughout the hills. And a sundowner while relaxing on our warm, sun-baked rock at the end of a long day is a must-have.
We have a horse sanctuary on the property, and horse riding is available for experienced riders. Lessons are available too. The horses are all unique personalities and are loved as part of the family. We would love for you to meet them and show them some affection.
